| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | [ Upstream commit 4f68ef64cd7feb1220232bd8f501d8aad340a099 ] The function cw1200_bss_info_changed() and cw1200_hw_scan() can be concurrently executed. The two functions both access a possible shared variable "frame.skb". This shared variable is freed by dev_kfree_skb() in cw1200_upload_beacon(), which is called by cw1200_bss_info_changed(). The free operation is protected by a mutex lock "priv->conf_mutex" in cw1200_bss_info_changed(). In cw1200_hw_scan(), this shared variable is accessed without the protection of the mutex lock "priv->conf_mutex". Thus, concurrency use-after-free bugs may occur. To fix these bugs, the original calls to mutex_lock(&priv->conf_mutex) and mutex_unlock(&priv->conf_mutex) are moved to the places, which can protect the accesses to the shared variable. This is all fine except when krealloc() failes we loose the ability to free the old memory pointed to by buf->begin. If we just create a temporary variable to assign memory to and assign the memory to it we can mitigate the memory leak. The cw1200 uses #ifdef to check for CONFIG_PM, but then uses SIMPLE_DEV_PM_OPS, which leaves the references out when CONFIG_PM_SLEEP is not defined, so we get a warning with PM=y && PM_SLEEP=n: drivers/net/wireless/st/cw1200/cw1200_spi.c:450:12: error: 'cw1200_spi_suspend' defined but not used [-Werror=unused-function] This removes the incorrect #ifdef and instead uses a __maybe_unused annotation to let the compiler know it can silently drop the function definition. For the DEV_PM_OPS definition, we can use an IS_ENABLED() check to avoid defining the structure when CONFIG_PM is not set without the #ifdef. On x86, the cw1200 driver produces a rather silly warning about the possible use of the 'ret' variable without an initialization presumably after being confused by the architecture specific definition of WARN_ON: drivers/net/wireless/st/cw1200/wsm.c: In function ‘wsm_handle_rx’: drivers/net/wireless/st/cw1200/wsm.c:1457:9: error: ‘ret’ may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized] We have already checked that 'count' is larger than 0 here, so we know that 'ret' is initialized. Changing the 'for' loop into do/while also makes this clear to the compiler. This introduces a number of helper functions/macros to set and to test the bits, along with new debugfs code. The occurrences of an explicit __clear_bit() are intentional, the drivers were never supposed to change their supported bits on the fly. We should investigate changing this to be a per-frame flag. In order to get the BSS struct for the new PBSS networks, change the cfg80211_get_bss() function to take a new enum ieee80211_bss_type argument with the valid network types, as "capa_mask" and "capa_val" no longer work correctly (the search must be band-aware now.) The remaining bits in "capa_mask" and "capa_val" are used only for privacy matching so replace those two with a privacy enum as well. Drivers that still require tailroom for ICV/MIC even when HW encryption is enabled can use IEEE80211_KEY_FLAG_RESERVE_TAILROOM to indicate it.
