Idle state calculcations will need to return the state chosen as an
integer. The state chosen is used as a index into the array and as such
cannot be negative value. Do not return negative errors from the
calculations. By default, the state returned wil be zero.

Commit c343bf1ba5ef ("cpuidle: Fix three reference count leaks")
fixes the cleanup of kobjects; however, it removes kfree() calls
altogether, leading to memory leaks.
Fix those and also defer the initialization of dev->kobj_dev until
after the error check, so that we do not end up with a dangling
pointer.

If this function returns an error, kobject_put() must be called to
properly clean up the memory associated with the object.

Fix __cpuidle_set_driver() to check if any of the CPUs in the mask has
a driver different from drv already and, if so, return -EBUSY before
updating any cpuidle_drivers per-CPU pointers.

Since commit d6f346f2d2 (cpuidle: improve governor Kconfig options)
the best cpuidle governor is selected automatically. There is little
point in additionally selecting the other one as it will not be used,
so don't select both governors by default.
Being able to select more than one governor is still good for
developers booting with cpuidle_sysfs_switch, though.
This fixes the second half of kernel BZ #65531.

During suspend alarm timer sends next wakeup time to
be programmed. Currently next wakeup time is not reset
upon wakeup. This causes unintended wakeups if there is
no alarm set during next suspend.
Reset suspend wake time during exit from suspend.

returned by it and that reference needs to be dropped by its caller.

This happens because the code calls get_lppaca() which calls
get_paca() and it checks if preemption is disabled through
check_preemption_disabled().
Preemption should be disabled because the per CPU variable may make no
sense if there is a preemption (and a CPU switch) after it reads the
per CPU data and when it is used.
In this device driver specifically, it is not a problem, because this
code just needs to have access to one lppaca struct, and it does not
matter if it is the current per CPU lppaca struct or not (i.e. when
there is a preemption and a CPU migration).
That said, the most appropriate fix seems to be related to avoiding
the debug_smp_processor_id() call at get_paca(), instead of calling
preempt_disable() before get_paca().

The commit 78eaa10f027c ("cpuidle: powernv/pseries: Auto-promotion of
snooze to deeper idle state") introduced a timeout for the snooze idle
state so that it could be eventually be promoted to a deeper idle
state. The snooze timeout value is static and set to the target
residency of the next idle state, which would train the cpuidle
governor to pick the next idle state eventually.
The unfortunate side-effect of this is that if the next idle state(s)
is disabled, the CPU will forever remain in snooze, despite the fact
that the system is completely idle, and other deeper idle states are
available.
This patch fixes the issue by dynamically setting the snooze timeout
to the target residency of the next enabled state on the device.

This was found with the -RT patch enabled, but the fix should apply to
non-RT also.
Used multi_v7_defconfig+PREEMPT_RT_FULL=y and this caused a compilation
warning without this fix:

Long ago, only in the lab, there was OPALv1 and OPALv2. Now there is
just OPALv3, with nobody ever expecting anything on pre-OPALv3 to
be cared about or supported by mainline kernels.
So, let's remove FW_FEATURE_OPALv3 and instead use FW_FEATURE_OPAL
exclusively.

Do not use kfree for memory allocated with devm_kzalloc during
failures as device memory will get freed in device release.

When failing to enter broadcast timer mode for an idle state that
requires it, a new state is selected that does not require broadcast,
but the broadcast variable remains set. This causes
tick_broadcast_exit to be called despite not having entered broadcast
mode.
This causes the WARN_ON_ONCE(!irqs_disabled()) to trigger in some
cases. It does not appear to cause problems for code today, but seems
to violate the interface so should be fixed.

drv->cpumask defaults to cpu_possible_mask in __cpuidle_driver_init().
On PowerNV platform cpu_present could be less than cpu_possible in cases
where firmware detects the cpu, but it is not available to the OS. When
CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU=n, such cpus are not hotplugable at runtime and hence
we skip creating cpu_device.
This breaks cpuidle on powernv where register_cpu() is not called for
cpus in cpu_possible_mask that cannot be hot-added at runtime.
Trying cpuidle_register_device() on cpu without cpu_device will cause
crash like this:

If a given cpu is not in cpu_present and cpu hotplug
is disabled, arch can skip setting up the cpu_dev.
Arch cpuidle driver should pass correct cpu mask
for registration, but failing to do so by the driver
causes error to propagate and crash like this:

The idle-state of each cpu is currently pointed to by rq->idle_state but
there isn't any information in the struct cpuidle_state that can used to
look up the idle-state energy model data stored in struct
sched_group_energy. For this purpose is necessary to store the idle
state index as well. Ideally, the idle-state data should be unified.

The list_for_each macro was not used correctly, where the intermediate
variable would be LIST_POISON, resulting in a untrusted pointer
dereference. Switch to using list_for_each_entry_safe to for safe
removal of a list entry.

If lpm_cpuidle_predict returns the prediction value less than the
minimum residency of shallowest mode, then this case was considered
as not predicted. This allows core to enter into deeper states.
Instead in this case, use the minimum residency of
the shallowest state as the predicted sleep length.
