It failed to take into account the case where the user does not specify any preference, in which case it makes sense that we should default to coherent I/O if the hardware supports it (hw_coherentio is non-zero). Introduce an enum to clarify the 3 different values of coherentio & use it throughout the code, modifying plat_device_is_coherent() & r4k_cache_init() to take into account the default case. On pre-DB1200 boards, pass the actual carddetect GPIO number instead of the IRQ, because we need the gpio to actually test card status (inserted or not) and can get the irq number with gpio_to_irq() instead. Tested on DB1300 and DB1500, this patch fixes PCMCIA on the DB1500, which used irq_to_gpio(). However only a handful really implement the GPIO API, most just forward everythings to gpiolib. The Alchemy machine is notable as it provides a system to allow implementing the GPIO API at the board level. But it is not used by any board currently supported, so it can also be removed. For most machine types we can just remove the custom gpio.h, as well as the custom wrappers if some exists. Some of the code found in the wrappers must be moved to the respective GPIO driver. A few more fixes are need in some drivers as they rely on linux/gpio.h to provides some machine specific definitions, or used asm/gpio.h instead of linux/gpio.h for the gpio API. So, this patch doesn't provide any set-state callbacks. It has a disable_irq_nosync()/enable_irq() pair around the generic_handle_irq() call. The value of this disable/enable is zero because its a complete noop: disable_irq_nosync() merily increments the disable count without actually masking the interrupt. enable_irq() soleley decrements the disable count without touching the interrupt chip. The interrupt cannot arrive again because the complete call chain runs with interrupts disabled. Remove it. Change ->determine_rate() prototype to return 0 or an error code, and pass a pointer to a clk_rate_request structure containing the expected target rate and the rate constraints imposed by clk users. The clk_rate_request structure might be extended in the future to contain other kind of constraints like the rounding policy, the maximum clock inaccuracy or other things that are not yet supported by the CCF (power consumption constraints ?). This implementation will take the clock tree as it was set up by boot firmware: all in-kernel boards should continue to work without having to set up the clock tree in board code. CLK_IGNORE_DISABLED will be removed once all drivers have been converted. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | With binutils 2.24 the attempt to switch with microMIPS mode to MIPS III mode through .set mips3 results in *lots* of warnings like {standard input}: Assembler messages: {standard input}:397: Warning: the 64-bit MIPS architecture does not support the `smartmips' extension during a kernel build. Fixed by using .set arch=r4000 instead. This breaks support for building the kernel with binutils 2.13 which was supported for 32 bit kernels only anyway and 2.14 which was a bad vintage for MIPS anyway. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The au1xxx-ide driver isn't any faster than pata_platform since it spends a lot of time busy waiting for DMA to finish; faster PIO/DMA modes only work on the db1200 with a certain cpu speed, UDMA is broken, and finally the old IDE layer is on death row, so time to switch to the newer ATA layer.
