When saving the callchain on Power, the kernel conservatively saves excess
entries in the callchain. A few of these entries are needed in some cases
but not others. We should use the DWARF debug information to determine
when the entries are needed.
Eg: the value in the link register (LR) is needed only when it holds the
return address of a function. At other times it must be ignored.
If the unnecessary entries are not ignored, we end up with duplicate arcs
in the call-graphs.
Use the DWARF debug information to determine if any callchain entries
should be ignored when building call-graphs.

TODO: For split-debug info objects like glibc, we can only determine
the call-frame-address only when both .eh_frame and .debug_info
sections are available. We should be able to determin the CFA
even without the .eh_frame section.

This patch adds optional pagefault tracing support to 'perf trace'.
Using -F/--pf option user can specify whether he wants minor, major or
all pagefault events to be traced. This patch adds only live mode,
record and replace will come in a separate patch.

syscalls:sys_{enter,exit} tracepoints rather than using raw_syscalls:*.
Update perf python and perl scripts to fallback to syscalls:* when

the tools/lib/traceevent directory. For example, one of the function
prototypes went from:

Fix several issues of kvm_nested_vmexit[_inject]: field width aren't
supported with pevent_print, rip was printed twice/incorrectly, SVM ISA
was hard-coded, we don't use ':' to separate field names.

The nested vmexit events were removed from the backport from trace-cmd because
they were considered buggy. They have since been updated in trace-cmd but
are still missing from the traceevent library. Add back in the buggy
version to be able to backport the fixes.

There are a number of benchmarks that do single runs and as a result
does not really help users gain a general idea of how the workload
performs. So the user must either manually do multiple runs or just use
single bogus results.
This option will enable users to specify the amount of runs (arbitrarily
defaulted to 10, to use the existing benchmarks default) through the
'--repeat' option. Add it to perf-bench instead of implementing it
always in each specific benchmark.

The ui_browser__gotorc function needs offset from 'y' member, so the row
index has to begin with 0, which happens by accident in current code,
because we display only one header line.
The bug shows when we want to display more than 1 header lines like
columns headers in following patches.

Currently the post-processing complains about the lack of rcutorture
output when --buildonly is set and also emits misleading messages about
kernels being started and finishing. This commit suppresses these
complaints and messages.

The CFcommon file must now be present, which makes using the current
scripts against old kernel versions cumbersome. This commit therefore
makes the CFcommon file be optional, so that old kernel versions can be
used with current torture scripts.

The CONFIG_PROVE_RCU_DELAY Kconfig parameter doesn't appear to be very

Pull config-bisect changes from Steven Rostedt:
"The big change here is the rewrite of config-bisect. The old way
never worked properly as it assumed the bad config was a subset of the
good config, and just found the config that would break the build.
The new way does a diff of the bad config verses the good config and
makes the similar until it finds that one config works and the other
does not and reports the config that makes that difference. The two
configs do not need to be related. It is much more useful now:

After the rewrite of the config bisect, there were several unused
functions that can be removed.
One of the unused functions printed out the failed config nicer than
what the rewrite did, so I kept that and used it to output the
bad config.

The new rewrite left out the CONFIG_BISECT_CHECK, which allows the
user to test that their "bad" config still is bad and their "good"
config still is good. This is especially important as the configs
are passed through a "make oldconfig" to update them with the lastest
kernel. Things could change that causes a bad config to work, or a
good config to break. The check is done after the configs have run
through the oldconfig processing.

I never liked the way config-bisect worked. I would assume the bad config
had some config that broke the system. But it would not work if the bad
config just happened to be missing something that the good config had.
I rewrote the config-bisect to do this properly. It does a diff of the two
configs, and sets half of the configs that are in one and not the other.
The way it works is that when it "sets", it really just makes one copy
what the other has. That is, a "set" can be setting a:
# CONFIG_FOO is not set
Basically, it looks at the differences between the two files and makes
them similar until it comes down to one config that makes it work or
not work depending on if it is set or not.
Note, if more than one config change makes the bad config not work, it
will only find one of them. But this is true with all bisect logic.

If we'd like to set the redirect target file of run_command(),
we should define $redirect before calling this function and should undef it
after calling this function. Since it's user-unfriendly, add 2nd parameter of
run_command() for this purpose.

Commit fb9edbe984 shortened held_lock->check from a 2-bit field
to a 1-bit field.
Make liblockdep compatible with the new definition by passing check=1
to lock_acquire() calls, rather than the old value check=2 (which
inadvertently disabled checks by overflowing to 0).
Without this fix, several of the test cases in liblockdep run_tests.sh
were failing.

Comparison of a boolean value (!__init_state) with a value of 2 (done)
as currently happens in the code is unlikely to succeed and causes
repeated initialization of the pthread function pointers.
Instead, remove boolean comparison so that we would initialize said
function pointers only once.

The function machine__get_kernel_start_addr() was taking the first symbol
of kallsyms as the start address. This is incorrect in certain cases
where the first symbol is something at 0, while the actual kernel
functions begin at a later point (e.g. 0x80200000).
This patch fixes machine__get_kernel_start_addr() to search for the
symbol "_text" or "_stext", which marks the beginning of kernel mapping.
This was already being done in machine__create_kernel_maps(). Thus, this
patch is just a refactor, to move that code into
machine__get_kernel_start_addr().

When cumulative callchain mode is on, we could get samples with
with no actual hits. This breaks the assumption of the annotation
code, that each sample has annotation counts allocated and leads
to segfault.
Fixing this by additional checks for annotation stats.
