This field is not bounds checked prior to writing a counter value at the supplied offset. Problem is that mark_source_chains should not have been called -- the rule doesn't have a next entry, so its supposed to return an absolute verdict of either ACCEPT or DROP. However, the function conditional() doesn't work as the name implies. It only checks that the rule is using wildcard address matching. However, an unconditional rule must also not be using any matches (no -m args). The underflow validator only checked the addresses, therefore passing the 'unconditional absolute verdict' test, while mark_source_chains also tested for presence of matches, and thus proceeeded to the next (not-existent) rule. Unify this so that all the callers have same idea of 'unconditional rule'. This causes we cannot enable QUOTA2_LOG, and netd complains this error: "Unable to open quota socket". So when we reach the quota2 limit, userspace will not be notified with this event. Since IP_NF_TARGET_ULOG was removed, we need not depend on "IP_NF_TARGET_ULOG=n", and for compatibility, add ulog_packet_msg_t related definitions copied from "ipt_ULOG.h". In this case, it was the same issue, but caused by a different call path, as the sk being returned from qtaguid_find_sk() was not a full socket. Resulting in the sk->sk_socket deref to fail. This patch adds an extra check to ensure the sk being retuned is a full socket, and if not it returns NULL. This is problematic, as there is no sk_socket in a request_sock. So when the qtaguid_mt function tries to access the sk->sk_socket, it accesses uninitialized memory. After looking at how other netfilter implementations handle this, I realized there was a skb_to_full_sk() helper added, which the xt_qtaguid code isn't yet using. This patch adds its use, and resovles panics seen when accessing uninitialzed memory when processing synack packets. FILS does not need the special rules for the Authentication transaction number and Status code fields, but it does need to add non-IE fields. The previously used NL80211_ATTR_SAE_DATA can be reused for this to avoid having to duplicate that implementation. Rename that attribute to more generic NL80211_ATTR_AUTH_DATA (with backwards compatibility define for NL80211_SAE_DATA). Also document the special rules related to the Authentication transaction number and Status code fiels. The null_entry route uses the loopback device for dst.dev but may not have rt6i_idev set because of the order in which initializations are done -- ip6_route_net_init is run before addrconf_init has initialized the loopback device. Fixing the initialization order is a much bigger problem with no obvious solution thus far. The BUG is triggered when the loopback is set down and the netif_running check added by a1a22c1206 fails. The fill_node descends to checking rt->rt6i_idev for ignore_routes_with_linkdown and since rt6i_idev is NULL it faults. The null_entry route should not be processed in a dump request. Catch and ignore. This check is done in rt6_dump_route as it is the highest place in the callchain with knowledge of both the route and the network namespace. The test here was run on an ARM64 based Android system. On further analysis with perf, we found that UDPv6 was spending significant time in the statistics netfilter targets which did socket lookup per packet. These statistics rules perform a lookup when there is no socket associated with the skb. Since there are multiple instances of these rules based on UID, there will be equal number of lookups per skb. By introducing early demux for UDPv6, we avoid the redundant lookups. The issue was found when entering suspend and resume. It triggers a warning in: mac80211/key.c: ieee80211_enable_keys() ... WARN_ON_ONCE(sdata->crypto_tx_tailroom_needed_cnt || sdata->crypto_tx_tailroom_pending_dec); ... It points out sdata->crypto_tx_tailroom_pending_dec isn't cleaned up successfully in a delayed_work during suspend. Add a flush_delayed_work to fix it. However in the case sock_error returned an error, the error code was then ignored, and recvmmsg returned 0. Change the error path of recvmmsg to correctly return the error code of sock_error. The bug was triggered by using recvmmsg on a CAN interface which was not up. Linux 4.6 and later return 0 in this case while earlier releases returned -ENETDOWN. However, if IPV6_RECVPKTINFO is set on a socket, the address of the skb is saved to ireq->pktopts and the ref count for skb is incremented in dccp_v6_conn_request, so skb is still in use. Nevertheless, it gets freed in dccp_rcv_state_process. Fix by calling consume_skb instead of doing goto discard and therefore calling __kfree_skb. Previously, packet sockets would drop packets smaller than or equal to dev->hard_header_len, but this has false positives. Zero length payload is used over Ethernet. Other link layer protocols support variable length headers. Support for validation of these protocols removed the min length check for all protocols. Introduce an explicit dev->min_header_len parameter and drop all packets below this value. Initially, set it to non-zero only for Ethernet and loopback. Other protocols can follow in a patch to net-next. This patch replaces the BUG_ON call with a proper error handling. It will return -EPIPE to the original sendmsg call, similarly to what would have been done if the association wasn't found in the first place. Let's use a "struct gre_base_hdr *greh" pointer to make this code more readable. p[1] becomes greh->protocol. grhlen is the GRE header length.
