[ Upstream commit 347a28b586802d09604a149c1a1f6de5dccbe6fa ]
This happened while running in qemu-system-aarch64, the AMBA PL011 UART
driver when enabling CONFIG_DEBUG_TEST_DRIVER_REMOVE.
arch_initcall(pl011_init) came before subsys_initcall(default_bdi_init),
devtmpfs' handle_remove() crashes because the reference count is a NULL
pointer only because wb->bdi hasn't been initialized yet.
Rework so that wb_put have an extra check if wb->bdi before decrement
wb->refcnt and also add a WARN_ON_ONCE to get a warning if it happens again
in other drivers.

commit a468f0ef516fda9c7d91bb550d458e853d76955e upstream.
Previously, we used cp_version only to detect recoverable dnodes.
In order to avoid same garbage cp_version, we needed to truncate the next
dnode during checkpoint, resulting in additional discard or data write.
If we can distinguish this by using crc in addition to cp_version, we can
remove this overhead.
There is backward compatibility concern where it changes node_footer layout.
So, this patch introduces a new checkpoint flag, CP_CRC_RECOVERY_FLAG, to
detect new layout. New layout will be activated only when this flag is set.

The reason is: when doing the inline dir conversion, we didn't consider
that directory has hierarchical hash structure which can be configured
through sysfs interface 'dir_level'.
By default, dir_level of directory inode is 0, it means we have one bucket
in hash table located in first level, all dirents will be hashed in this
bucket, so it has no problem for us to do the duplication simply between
inline dentry page and converted normal dentry page.
However, if we configured dir_level with the value N (greater than 0), it
will expand the bucket number of first level hash table by 2^N - 1, it
hashs dirents into different buckets according their hash value, if we
still move all dirents to first bucket, it makes incorrent locating for
inline dirents, the result is, although we can iterate all dirents through
->readdir, we can't stat some of them in ->lookup which based on hash
table searching.
This patch fixes this issue by rehashing dirents into correct position
when converting inline directory.

We ran into a funky issue, where someone doing 256K buffered reads saw
128K requests at the device level. Turns out it is read-ahead capping
the request size, since we use 128K as the default setting. This
doesn't make a lot of sense - if someone is issuing 256K reads, they
should see 256K reads, regardless of the read-ahead setting, if the
underlying device can support a 256K read in a single command.
This patch introduces a bdi hint, io_pages. This is the soft max IO
size for the lower level, I've hooked it up to the bdev settings here.
Read-ahead is modified to issue the maximum of the user request size,
and the read-ahead max size, but capped to the max request size on the
device side. The latter is done to avoid reading ahead too much, if the
application asks for a huge read. With this patch, the kernel behaves
like the application expects.

commit d4b09acf924b84bae77cad090a9d108e70b43643 upstream.
if node have NFSv41+ mounts inside several net namespaces
it can lead to use-after-free in svc_process_common()
svc_process_common()
/* Setup reply header */
rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_ops->xpo_prep_reply_hdr(rqstp); <<< HERE
svc_process_common() can use incorrect rqstp->rq_xprt,
its caller function bc_svc_process() takes it from serv->sv_bc_xprt.
The problem is that serv is global structure but sv_bc_xprt
is assigned per-netnamespace.
According to Trond, the whole "let's set up rqstp->rq_xprt
for the back channel" is nothing but a giant hack in order
to work around the fact that svc_process_common() uses it
to find the xpt_ops, and perform a couple of (meaningless
for the back channel) tests of xpt_flags.
All we really need in svc_process_common() is to be able to run
rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_ops->xpo_prep_reply_hdr()
Bruce J Fields points that this xpo_prep_reply_hdr() call
is an awfully roundabout way just to do "svc_putnl(resv, 0);"
in the tcp case.
This patch does not initialiuze rqstp->rq_xprt in bc_svc_process(),
now it calls svc_process_common() with rqstp->rq_xprt = NULL.
To adjust reply header svc_process_common() just check
rqstp->rq_prot and calls svc_tcp_prep_reply_hdr() for tcp case.
To handle rqstp->rq_xprt = NULL case in functions called from
svc_process_common() patch intruduces net namespace pointer
svc_rqst->rq_bc_net and adjust SVC_NET() definition.
Some other function was also adopted to properly handle described case.

The interaction between virtio and IOMMUs is messy.
On most systems with virtio, physical addresses match bus addresses,
and it doesn't particularly matter which one we use to program
the device.
On some systems, including Xen and any system with a physical device
that speaks virtio behind a physical IOMMU, we must program the IOMMU
for virtio DMA to work at all.
On other systems, including SPARC and PPC64, virtio-pci devices are
enumerated as though they are behind an IOMMU, but the virtio host
ignores the IOMMU, so we must either pretend that the IOMMU isn't
there or somehow map everything as the identity.
Add a feature bit to detect that quirk: VIRTIO_F_IOMMU_PLATFORM.
Any device with this feature bit set to 0 needs a quirk and has to be
passed physical addresses (as opposed to bus addresses) even though
the device is behind an IOMMU.
Note: it has to be a per-device quirk because for example, there could
be a mix of passed-through and virtual virtio devices. As another
example, some devices could be implemented by an out of process
hypervisor backend (in case of qemu vhost, or vhost-user) and so support
for an IOMMU needs to be coded up separately.
It would be cleanest to handle this in IOMMU core code, but that needs
per-device DMA ops. While we are waiting for that to be implemented, use
a work-around in virtio core.
Note: a "noiommu" feature is a quirk - add a wrapper to make
that clear.

checkpatch.pl wants arrays of strings declared as follows:
static const char * const names[] = { "vq-1", "vq-2", "vq-3" };
Currently the find_vqs() function takes a const char *names[] argument
so passing checkpatch.pl's const char * const names[] results in a
compiler error due to losing the second const.
This patch adjusts the find_vqs() prototype and updates all virtio
transports. This makes it possible for virtio_balloon.c, virtio_input.c,
virtgpu_kms.c, and virtio_rpmsg_bus.c to use the checkpatch.pl-friendly
type.

commit 7f7ccc2ccc2e70c6054685f5e3522efa81556830 upstream.
proc_pid_cmdline_read() and environ_read() directly access the target
process' VM to retrieve the command line and environment. If this
process remaps these areas onto a file via mmap(), the requesting
process may experience various issues such as extra delays if the
underlying device is slow to respond.
Let's simply refuse to access file-backed areas in these functions.
For this we add a new FOLL_ANON gup flag that is passed to all calls
to access_remote_vm(). The code already takes care of such failures
(including unmapped areas). Accesses via /proc/pid/mem were not
changed though.
This was assigned CVE-2018-1120.
Note for stable backports: the patch may apply to kernels prior to 4.11
but silently miss one location; it must be checked that no call to
access_remote_vm() keeps zero as the last argument.

commit 6347e8d5bcce33fc36e651901efefbe2c93a43ef upstream.
This removes the 'write' argument from access_remote_vm() and replaces
it with 'gup_flags' as use of this function previously silently implied
FOLL_FORCE, whereas after this patch callers explicitly pass this flag.
We make this explicit as use of FOLL_FORCE can result in surprising
behaviour (and hence bugs) within the mm subsystem.

commit 78c9c4dfbf8c04883941445a195276bb4bb92c76 upstream.
The posix timer overrun handling is broken because the forwarding functions
can return a huge number of overruns which does not fit in an int. As a
consequence timer_getoverrun(2) and siginfo::si_overrun can turn into
random number generators.
The k_clock::timer_forward() callbacks return a 64 bit value now. Make
k_itimer::ti_overrun[_last] 64bit as well, so the kernel internal
accounting is correct. 3Remove the temporary (int) casts.
Add a helper function which clamps the overrun value returned to user space
via timer_getoverrun(2) or siginfo::si_overrun limited to a positive value
between 0 and INT_MAX. INT_MAX is an indicator for user space that the
overrun value has been clamped.

The current design of hrtimers migrates the pinned timers to a
different CPU upon its hotplug. However, perf-core needs to
maintain the mux-hrtimers on a per CPU basis. That is, each
hrtimer carries the context for that particular CPU and would
lose this context if it gets migrated to a different CPU. As a
result, cancel the hrtimer for the CPU that's about to go down
and restart it (if required) when the perf-events are being created.

commit 704620afc70cf47abb9d6a1a57f3825d2bca49cf upstream.
When reading an extra descriptor, we need to properly check the minimum
and maximum size allowed, to prevent from invalid data being sent by a
device.

commit 3756f6401c302617c5e091081ca4d26ab604bec5 upstream.
gcc-8 warns about using strncpy() with the source size as the limit:
fs/exec.c:1223:32: error: argument to 'sizeof' in 'strncpy' call is the same expression as the source; did you mean to use the size of the destination? [-Werror=sizeof-pointer-memaccess]
This is indeed slightly suspicious, as it protects us from source
arguments without NUL-termination, but does not guarantee that the
destination is terminated.
This keeps the strncpy() to ensure we have properly padded target
buffer, but ensures that we use the correct length, by passing the
actual length of the destination buffer as well as adding a build-time
check to ensure it is exactly TASK_COMM_LEN.
There are only 23 callsites which I all reviewed to ensure this is
currently the case. We could get away with doing only the check or
passing the right length, but it doesn't hurt to do both.

commit 30aba6656f61ed44cba445a3c0d38b296fa9e8f5 upstream.
Disallows open of FIFOs or regular files not owned by the user in world
writable sticky directories, unless the owner is the same as that of the
directory or the file is opened without the O_CREAT flag. The purpose
is to make data spoofing attacks harder. This protection can be turned
on and off separately for FIFOs and regular files via sysctl, just like
the symlinks/hardlinks protection. This patch is based on Openwall's
"HARDEN_FIFO" feature by Solar Designer.
This is a brief list of old vulnerabilities that could have been prevented
by this feature, some of them even allow for privilege escalation:
CVE-2000-1134
CVE-2007-3852
CVE-2008-0525
CVE-2009-0416
CVE-2011-4834
CVE-2015-1838
CVE-2015-7442
CVE-2016-7489
This list is not meant to be complete. It's difficult to track down all
vulnerabilities of this kind because they were often reported without any
mention of this particular attack vector. In fact, before
hardlinks/symlinks restrictions, fifos/regular files weren't the favorite
vehicle to exploit them.

[ Upstream commit 36156f9241cb0f9e37d998052873ca7501ad4b36 ]
Add of_get_compatible_child() helper that can be used to lookup
compatible child nodes.
Several drivers currently use of_find_compatible_node() to lookup child
nodes while failing to notice that the of_find_ functions search the
entire tree depth-first (from a given start node) and therefore can
match unrelated nodes. The fact that these functions also drop a
reference to the node they start searching from (e.g. the parent node)
is typically also overlooked, something which can lead to use-after-free
bugs.

__can_get_echo_skb()
commit a4310fa2f24687888ce80fdb0e88583561a23700 upstream.
This patch factors out all non sending parts of can_get_echo_skb() into
a seperate function __can_get_echo_skb(), so that it can be re-used in
an upcoming patch.

Currently, if arch code wants to supply seccomp_data directly to
seccomp (which is generally much faster than having seccomp do it
using the syscall_get_xyz() API), it has to use the two-phase
seccomp hooks. Add it to the easy hooks, too.

Upon driver unbind usb_free_all_descriptors() function frees all
speed descriptor pointers without setting them to NULL. In case
gadget speed changes (i.e from super speed plus to super speed)
after driver unbind only upto super speed descriptor pointers get
populated. Super speed plus desc still holds the stale (already
freed) pointer. As a result next composition switch results into
double free of super speed plus descriptor. Fix this issue by
setting all descriptor pointers to NULL after freeing them in
usb_free_all_descriptors(). Also clean up gsi_unbind() which is
setting up descriptor pointers to NULL already.
