commit e07ff9434167981c993a26d2edbbcb8e13801dbb upstream.
The s5m8767_pmic_probe() function calls s5m8767_get_register() to
read data without checking the return code, which produces a compile-time
warning when that data is accessed:
drivers/regulator/s5m8767.c: In function 's5m8767_pmic_probe':
drivers/regulator/s5m8767.c:924:7: error: 'enable_reg' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized]
drivers/regulator/s5m8767.c:944:30: error: 'enable_val' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized]
This changes the s5m8767_get_register() function to return a -EINVAL
not just for an invalid register number but also for an invalid
regulator number, as both would result in returning uninitialized
data. The s5m8767_pmic_probe() function is then changed accordingly
to fail on a read error, as all the other callers of s5m8767_get_register()
already do.
In practice this probably cannot happen, as we don't call
s5m8767_get_register() with invalid arguments, but the gcc
warning seems valid in principle, in terms writing safe
error checking.

commit 70a7fb80e85ae7f78f8e90cec3fbd862ea6a4d4b upstream.
Commit fa731ac7ea04 ("regulator: core: avoid unused variable warning")
introduced a subtle change in how supplies are locked. Where previously
code was always locking the regulator of the current iteration, the new
implementation only locks the regulator if it has a supply. For any
given power tree that means that the root will never get locked.
On the other hand the regulator_unlock_supply() will still release all
the locks, which in turn causes the lock debugging code to warn about a
mutex being unlocked which wasn't locked.

commit 49a6bb7a1c0963f260e4b0dcc2c0e56ec65a28b2 upstream.
The latest workaround for the lockdep interface's not using the second
argument of mutex_lock_nested() changed the loop missed locking the last
regulator due to a thinko with the loop termination condition exiting
one regulator too soon.

commit bb41897e38c53458a88b271f2fbcd905ee1f9584 upstream.
As noticed by Geert Uytterhoeven, my patch to avoid a harmless build warning
in regulator_lock_supply() was total crap and introduced a real bug:
> [ BUG: bad unlock balance detected! ]
> kworker/u4:0/6 is trying to release lock (&rdev->mutex) at:
> [<c0247b84>] regulator_set_voltage+0x38/0x50
we still lock the regulator supplies, but not the actual regulators,
so we are missing a lock, and the unlock is unbalanced.
This rectifies it by first locking the regulator device itself before
using the same loop as before to lock its supplies.

This reverts commit b1999fa6e8145305a6c8bda30ea20783717708e6 which was
commit 70a7fb80e85ae7f78f8e90cec3fbd862ea6a4d4b upstream.
It causes run-time breakage in the 4.4-stable tree and more patches are
needed to be applied first before this one in order to resolve the
issue.

MSMCOBALT v2 uses different open-loop fuse reference voltages
than MSMCOBALT v1. Update the cpr3-mmss-regulator driver so that
it uses the proper set of reference voltages for v1 and v2. Also
change the compatible string of existing MSMCOBALT
cpr3-mmss-regulator devices to be for v1 explicitly so that the
v2 reference voltages are not erroneously used on v1 boards.

Allow disabling CPR hardware closed-loop operation via debugfs
on CPRh-compliant controllers. This can be done by setting
either cpr_closed_loop_enable or use_hw_closed_loop to zero.
Both flags must be set to reallow CPRh hardware closed-loop
operation.

voltages. This allows for the correct calculation of open-loop
voltages across msmcobalt chip revisions where the fused
reference voltages vary. Lastly, update the compatible string for
existing msmcobalt v1 CPR APC devices.

Update the algorithm applied to open-loop voltage partial binning
values so that it only affects the lowest two fused corners (i.e.
MinSVS and SVS). These values correspond to valid voltages for
the highest two fused corners (i.e. Nominal and Turbo).

commit 70a7fb80e85ae7f78f8e90cec3fbd862ea6a4d4b upstream.
On the other hand the regulator_unlock_supply() will still release all
the locks, which in turn causes the lock debugging code to warn about a
mutex being unlocked which wasn't locked.

commit fa731ac7ea04a7d3a5c6d2f568132478c02a83b3 upstream.
The second argument of the mutex_lock_nested() helper is only
evaluated if CONFIG_DEBUG_LOCK_ALLOC is set. Otherwise we
get this build warning for the new regulator_lock_supply
function:
drivers/regulator/core.c: In function 'regulator_lock_supply':
drivers/regulator/core.c:142:6: warning: unused variable 'i' [-Wunused-variable]
To avoid the warning, this restructures the code to make it
both simpler and to move the 'i++' outside of the mutex_lock_nested
call, where it is now always used and the variable is not
flagged as unused.
We had some discussion about changing mutex_lock_nested to an
inline function, which would make the code do the right thing here,
but in the end decided against it, in order to guarantee that
mutex_lock_nested() does not introduced overhead without
CONFIG_DEBUG_LOCK_ALLOC.

Add support for a corner whose open-loop voltage corresponds to the
VDD supply voltage required during an APM switch transition. This
corner is requested by OSM hardware to the CPRh controller when
the VDD supply must be set to a specific voltage to ensure a stable
APM switch procedure. Define a crossover corner of 880 mV for both
VDD_APC CPR devices.

commit 3cb99e2ea99a454c8837a55aac88753ef05fc1eb upstream.
The enable/disable values for GPIO LDOs are reversed. It seems no one
noticed as AXP22x support was introduced recently, and no one was using
the GPIO LDOs, either because no designs actually use them or board
support hasn't caught up.

If KTM get a trip threshold trigger notification and if the
temperature stays the same as the recent trip threshold, KTM will
re-activate the recently triggered threshold, resulting in back to
back interrupts. To avoid this add support in KTM to maintain the
recently triggered threshold state and then re-active the threshold
based on the last threshold trip.
This state is updated for mitigation features like VDD MX retention,
CX phase control, VDD restriction, OCR monitor and external clients
like CPR low temperature monitor etc.

A recent change to regulator framework replaced the
regulator_set_optimum_mode API with regulator_set_load.
The regulator_set_load API does the following for regulators which have
not implemented set_load().
- determines the most optimal mode for the given load by calling
get_optimum_mode()
- gets the current mode by calling get_mode()
- calls set_mode() if the modes are different and expects the mode to be
committed to the hardware
The rpm-smd-regulator's get_optimum_mode() remembers the load and uses that
for the upcoming get_mode() call. This causes the framework to never call
the set_mode API, thereby causing rpm-smd-regulator to never send the load
to the RPM.
The set_load op was introduced for hardware which does not support the
set_mode op. This is convenient since the RPM sets the mode according to
the aggregated load requirements. In addition the RPM also supports forcing
certain modes which fits well with the set_mode op.
Implement the set_load op to send the aggregated load vote to RPM, and
repurpose the set_mode op to send the aggregated mode vote to RPM.
Remove the get_optimum_mode op since it is no longer required with this
change.
Repurposing of set_mode should not impact consumers since it has the same
effect as before. Instead of sending a load vote which would cause the RPM
to select the desired mode the mode will be sent directly.
Furthermore, the hpm-min-load device tree property is no longer required
since the mode is no longer set based on the hpm-min-load threshold.
Remove it.

The IBB pulse-skip and NLIMIT DAC configuration should be disabled
before applying the 2nd SWIRE command skip logic, to guarantee
that the IBB voltage changes immediately in the subsequent
SWIRE command. After the WA is completed, the pulse-skip can
be re-enabled after a programmable delay. Add this logic and
a DT property 'qcom,swire-ibb-ps-enable-delay' to configure
this delay. If this delay is not specified in the DT it defaults
to 200ms.

Currently, while setting the voltage on LAB and IBB regulators,
slew rate is always calculated based on the difference between
user specified minimum voltage(min_uV) and the minimum voltage
(min_volt) that can be supported on the regulator based on the
mode it is operating.
However, it should be really calculated based upon the difference
between current voltage and new voltage which will be set. Fix
it. Also, add the missing return -EINVAL to set_voltage of LAB
regulator if min_uV is less than min_volt.
While at it, remove the redundant function name added to the
pr_err() statements in set_voltage callbacks.

Commit b7d5b597f16a ("regulator: cpr3-regulator: add support for

unregister_hotcpu_notifier(). Correct this so that the IRQ
affinity notifier is unregistered when a cpr3-regulator device
is unregistered.

Currently, standalone mode is treated as a mode along with other
modes, LCD and AMOLED. Rather than keeping it like that, LCD and
AMOLED mode configurations should be allowed along with the way
LAB and IBB modules are controlled, i.e. standalone or dual.
Remove the standalone mode from the list of modes and keep it as
a configurable parameter via device tree. This way, LCD and
AMOLED modes can be configured along with the way LAB/IBB needs
to be controlled (dual or standalone).
Add support for parent supply to LABIBB device so that LAB and
IBB regulators can vote for MBG when operating in standalone
mode.

This reverts commit 0324b74b3953 ("regulator: labibb: avail of
simpler regulator registration api").
LABIBB regulator driver still needs to obtain init_data from
the device tree not just for the regulator name but it is for
a subsequent change which will pass the parent supply name via
init_data to register with the regulator framework. Hence bring
it back.
Since of_get_regulator_init_data() is brought back, we need to
pass rdesc to that function as the number of arguments got
changed.

On newer AMOLED panels the second SWIRE command is expected to
control the AVDD voltage. However, the PMI8950/PMI8994 IBB module
interprets this command for VDISN and incorrectly reduces its voltage.
Add DT properties 'qcom,skip-2nd-swire-cmd' to skip the second
SWIRE command and 'qcom,swire-2nd-cmd-delay' to explicitly specify
the delay between the first and second SWIRE command.

MSMCOBALT parts with CPR fusing revision 1 and above will have
their open-loop voltage fuses blown assuming new lower reference
voltages. These lower reference values allow for fusing parts
with lower open-loop voltages than was possible before. Update
the driver in order to use a different set of open-loop fuse
reference voltages for MSMCOBALT CPR revision 0 vs revisions
1 to 7.

Adjust floor voltages based upon a configurable APM hysteresis voltage.
This reduces the number of corners whose floor voltages must be raised
to ensure stable operation with manual APM switching. In particular,
for corners with ceiling voltage greater than or equal to the APM
threshold voltage and floor voltage less than APM threshold voltage
set an adjusted floor of max(floor, APM threshold - APM hysteresis).

Adjust the floor, ceiling, and open-loop voltages for each corner
of each CPR3 regulator based upon aging measurements. This
allows the fixed open-loop voltage adjustment to be reduced since
it no longer has to account for the maximum possible aging
adjustment. This in turn leads to more situations where LDO mode
may be used for the HMSS CPR3 regulators since the LDO must
always operate at the open-loop voltage.
