| * | sony-laptop: complete the motion eye camera support in sony-laptopmalattia@linux.it2007-04-28
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add the exported sony_pic_camera_command() function to make the MEYE driver happy. Signed-off-by: Mattia Dongili <malattia@linux.it> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
| * | sonypi: try to detect if sony-laptop has already taken one of the known ioportsmalattia@linux.it2007-04-28
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Get the IO resources list in sony-laptop in the same order as listed in sonypi and make sonypi check if one of those is already busy. The sonypi check can be disabled by a module parameter in case the user thinks we are plainly wrong (check_ioport=0). | * | sony-laptop: add edge modem support (also called WWAN)malattia@linux.it2007-04-28
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Some SZ Vaios have a gsm built-in modem. Allow powering on/off this device. Thanks to Joshua Wise for the base code. Signed-off-by: Mattia Dongili <malattia@linux.it> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
| * | sony-laptop: add locking on accesses to the ioport and global varsmalattia@linux.it2007-04-28
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Better avoid having ioport commands mixing and global variables reading/writing. Signed-off-by: Mattia Dongili <malattia@linux.it> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
| * | sony-laptop: add camera enable/disable parameter, better handle possible ↵malattia@linux.it2007-04-28
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | infinite loop Use a parameter to enable/disable motion eye camera (for C1VE/C1VN models) controls and avoid entering an infinite loop if the camera is not present and the HW doesn't answer as we expect on io commands. | * | sony-laptop: Unify the input subsystem event forwardingmalattia@linux.it2007-04-10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | SNC and SPIC events are forwarded to the same input devices and are thus handled together. Signed-off-by: Mattia Dongili <malattia@linux.it> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
| * | sony-laptop: Add SNY6001 device handling (sonypi reimplementation)malattia@linux.it2007-04-10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Reimplement sonypi using ACPI only functions. Signed-off-by: Mattia Dongili <malattia@linux.it> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>

| * | sony-laptop: Prepare the platform driver for multiple users.malattia@linux.it2007-04-10
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Both the SNC and SPIC device drivers will create attributes and thus there's the need to have an internal usage count to avoid re-registering or de-registering at the wrong time. * backlight: Separate backlight properties from backlight ops pointersRichard Purdie2007-02-20
| | | | | | | | | Per device data such as brightness belongs to the indivdual device and should therefore be separate from the the backlight operation function pointers. This patch splits the two types of data and allows simplifcation of some code. Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <rpurdie@rpsys.net>
* backlight: Clean up pmac_backlight handlingRichard Purdie2007-02-20
| | | | | | | Move the setting/unsetting of pmac_backlight into the backlight core instead of doing it in each driver. Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <rpurdie@rpsys.net>
* backlight: Fix external uses of backlight internal semaphoreRichard Purdie2007-02-20
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | backlight_device->sem has a very specific use as documented in the header file. The external users of this are using it for a different reason, to serialise access to the update_status() method. backlight users were supposed to implement their own internal serialisation of update_status() if needed but everyone is doing things differently and incorrectly. Therefore add a global mutex to take care of serialisation for everyone, once and for all. Locking for get_brightness remains optional since most users don't need it. Also update the lcd class in a similar way. Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <rpurdie@rpsys.net>
* backlight: Remove unneeded owner fieldRichard Purdie2007-02-20
| | | | | | | | | | | | Remove uneeded owner field from backlight_properties structure. Nothing uses it and it is unlikely that it will ever be used. The backlight class uses other means to ensure that nothing references unloaded code. Based on a patch from Dmitry Torokhov <dtor@insightbb.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <rpurdie@rpsys.net>

| * | sony-laptop: allow complex per-value input/output validationMattia Dongili2007-02-13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Replace sony_acpi_value.{min,max} with a callback function that allows more complex reasoning in accepting input and presenting output. This allows consistency between the sony-laptop specific 'brightness_default' and the backlight subsystem 0-based 'brightness'. * | | [PATCH] mark struct file_operations const 5Arjan van de Ven2007-02-12
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Many struct file_operations in the kernel can be "const". Marking them const moves these to the .rodata section, which avoids false sharing with potential dirty data. In addition it'll catch accidental writes at compile time to these shared resources. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Adds backlight support using backlight class. We now change the brightness *and toggle the backlight !* via /sys/class/backlight/asus-laptop/. If the user switchs the backlight using the keyboard, asus_hotk_notify looks for ATKD_LCD_OFF and ATKD_LCD_ON events, and stores the right state into hotk->status and bd->props->power . | * | asus-laptop: add bluetooth and wlan supportCorentin Chary2007-01-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | WLED and BLED are not handled like other leds (MLED, etc ..), because sometime they also control the wlan/bluetooth device. If the method for wireless_status is found, it's used to get the status, otherwise hotk->status is used. We also use the HWRS method, which tell if the bluetooth/wlan device is present or not. This patch show why we need a ASUS_SET_DEVICE_ATTR macro : if there is a bluetooth device, /sys/dev.../asus-laptop/bluetooth is usable, else it's not but it's clean. | * | asus-laptop: add led supportCorentin Chary2007-01-30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add led support, using generic led class. Thomas Tuttle's patch <http://lkml.org/lkml/2006/7/6/247> was very usefull. We use hotk->status to store led status because it's very hard to find acpi method to get the right status... To reduce the code, I use a lot of macro (ASUS_LED, ASUS_LED_REGISTER, etc ...), because the code is the same for all leds ...
