The tps6586x driver creates an irqchip that is used by its various child
devices for managing interrupts. The tps6586x-rtc device is one of its
children that uses the tps6586x irqchip. When using the tps6586x-rtc as
a wake-up device from suspend, the following is seen:

OOM killer disabled.
Freezing remaining freezable tasks ... (elapsed 0.000 seconds) done.
Disabling non-boot CPUs ...
Entering suspend state LP1

CPU1 is up
tps6586x 3-0034: failed to read interrupt status
tps6586x 3-0034: failed to read interrupt status
The reason why the tps6586x interrupt status cannot be read is because
the tps6586x interrupt is not masked during suspend and when the
tps6586x-rtc interrupt occurs, to wake-up the device, the interrupt is
seen before the i2c controller has been resumed in order to read the
tps6586x interrupt status.
The tps6586x-rtc driver sets it's interrupt as a wake-up source during
suspend, which gets propagated to the parent tps6586x interrupt.
However, the tps6586x-rtc driver cannot disable it's interrupt during
suspend otherwise we would never be woken up and so the tps6586x must
disable it's interrupt instead.
Prevent the tps6586x interrupt handler from executing on exiting suspend
before the i2c controller has been resumed by disabling the tps6586x
interrupt on entering suspend and re-enabling it on resuming from
suspend.

It currently only works if the parent bus uses "simple-bus". We
currently try to probe children with non-existing compatible values.
And we're missing .probe.
I noticed this while testing devices configured to probe using ti-sysc
interconnect target module driver. For that we also may want to rebind
the driver, so let's remove __init and __exit.

If we cannot communicate with the EC chip to detect the protocol version
and its features, it's very likely useless to continue. Else we will
commit all kind of uninformed mistakes (using the wrong protocol, the
wrong buffer size, mixing the EC with other chips).

According to documentation REMAP register has to be programmed in
either DMA or PIO mode of the slice.
Move the DMA capability check below to let REMAP register be programmed
in PIO mode.

POWERHOLD signal has higher priority over the DEV_ON bit.
So power off will not happen if the POWERHOLD is held high.
Hence reset the MUX to GPIO_7 mode to release the POWERHOLD
and the DEV_ON bit to take effect to power off the PMIC.
PMIC Power off happens in dire situations like thermal shutdown
so irrespective of the POWERHOLD setting go ahead and turn off
the powerhold. Currently poweroff is broken on boards that have
powerhold enabled. This fixes poweroff on those boards.

Fix child-node lookup during probe, which ended up searching the whole
device tree depth-first starting at the parent rather than just matching
on its children.
To make things worse, the parent node was prematurely freed, while the
child node was leaked.
Note that the CONFIG_OF compile guard can be removed as
of_get_child_by_name() provides a !CONFIG_OF implementation which always
fails.

A helper purported to look up a child node based on its name was using
the wrong of-helper and ended up prematurely freeing the parent of-node
while leaking any matching node.
To make things worse, any matching node would not even necessarily be a
child node as the whole device tree was searched depth-first starting at
the parent.

On the Tegra124 Nyan-Big chromebook the very first SPI message sent to
the EC is failing.
The Tegra SPI driver configures the SPI chip-selects to be active-high
by default (and always has for many years). The EC SPI requires an
active-low chip-select and so the Tegra chip-select is reconfigured to
be active-low when the EC SPI driver calls spi_setup(). The problem is
that if the first SPI message to the EC is sent too soon after
reconfiguring the SPI chip-select, it fails.
The EC SPI driver prevents back-to-back SPI messages being sent too
soon by keeping track of the time the last transfer was sent via the
variable 'last_transfer_ns'. To prevent the very first transfer being
sent too soon, initialise the 'last_transfer_ns' variable after calling
spi_setup() and before sending the first SPI message.

The R in PEK_DBR stands for rising, so it should be mapped to
AXP288_IRQ_POKP where the last P stands for positive edge.
Likewise PEK_DBF should be mapped to the falling edge, aka the
_N_egative edge, so it should be mapped to AXP288_IRQ_POKN.
This fixes the inverted powerbutton status reporting by the
axp20x-pek driver.

In the current boot, clients making use of the AB8500 sysctrl
may be probed before the ab8500-sysctrl driver. This gives them
-EINVAL, but should rather give -EPROBE_DEFER.
Before this, the abx500 clock driver didn't probe properly,
and as a result the codec driver in turn using the clocks did
not probe properly. After this patch, everything probes
properly.
Also add OF compatible-string probing. This driver is all
device tree, so let's just make a drive-by-fix of that as
well.

Commit 16fa3dc75c22 ("mfd: omap-usb-tll: HOST TLL platform driver")
added support for USB TLL, but uses OMAP_TLL_CHANNEL_CONF_ULPINOBITSTUFF
bit the wrong way. The comments in the code are correct, but the inverted
use of OMAP_TLL_CHANNEL_CONF_ULPINOBITSTUFF causes the register to be
enabled instead of disabled unlike what the comments say.
Without this change the Wrigley 3G LTE modem on droid 4 EHCI bus can
be only pinged few times before it stops responding.

If there is a fake interrupt SW is clearing interrupt status,
due to this some of the required interrupts are getting cleared.

Commit 41a3da2b8e163 ("mfd: intel-lpss: Save register context on
suspend") saved the register context while going to suspend and
also put the device in reset state.
Due to the resetting of device, system cannot enter S3/S0ix
states when no_console_suspend flag is enabled. The system
and serial console both hang. The resetting of device is not
needed while going to suspend. Hence remove this code.

readl_poll_timeout() calls usleep_range(), but
regmap_atmel_hlcdc_reg_write() is called in atomic context (regmap
spinlock held).
Replace the readl_poll_timeout() call by readl_poll_timeout_atomic().

Member "status" of struct usb_sg_request is managed by usb core. A
spin lock is used to serialize the change of it. The driver could
check the value of req->status, but should avoid changing it without
the hold of the spinlock. Otherwise, it could cause race or error
in usb core.
This patch could be backported to stable kernels with version later
than v3.14.

Currently, REGMAP debugfs write is always permitted, which
poses a risk of some unexpected PMIC setting. Make
REGMAP_ALLOW_WRITE_DEBUGFS configurable so debugfs write
can be disabled when not desired.

As different kinds of gpio may be used for wcd codec reset.
Check the common pinctrl state instead of the gpio hw state
in wcd9xxx_reset.

Native audio playback is muted after adsp subsystem restart,
because codec device_reset() API is called even before device_down()
API finishes execution. This causes audio to mute, as codec is not
in proper reset state. Add new lock to synchronize codec subsystem
restart APIs.

In some devices, qcom-i2c-pmic driver fails probe from the initial
poke failure of attached SEM slave.
As software workaround, this issue can be recovered by retrying to
ensure the unresponsive device is powered.

IRQ clean up should be done only after codec devices have been
notified with device down. Without this, there are chances of
race-condition where some of the resources like locks used for
safe handling of the IRQs would be used after those are freed.
