nr is indirectly controlled by user-space, hence leading to a
potential exploitation of the Spectre variant 1 vulnerability.
This issue was detected with the help of Smatch:

Fix this by sanitizing nr before using it to index dev->driver->ioctls
and drm_ioctls.
Notice that given that speculation windows are large, the policy is
to kill the speculation on the first load and not worry if it can be
completed with a dependent load/store [1].

Add new DRM node to handle early display service. The early DRM
driver is to workaround Andriod display framework long boot time
problem and DRM single master limitation. The early DRM node provides
display function for early application that is outside Android
framework. The early application can use early DRM to draw early
UI and bootloader review camera menu function. Android framework will
not use early DRM node. It will continue to use the main DRM node.
Early DRM is another KMS driver that designed for bootup application.
Early DRM is not based on SDE framework and it will not initialize
display hardware. Early DRM rely on bootloader to initialize display
hardware and interfaces. For power and SMMU, early DRM relies on main
DRM to initialize them. Early DRM only provide limited display
functionality such as RGB buffer display. Early DRM only expected to
run during bootup time to work with bootloader/early RVC. When Android
UI is ready, early DRM will handoff all display resource to main DRM.
After that, no application can open early DRM node.
Early DRM is enabled in device tree. User must specify which display
to enable early DRM and which display pipes are assigned to eDRM.

To support transparent panel stacking, application will pass non-panel-
stacking buffer roi to kernel and let kernel to extend to panel-stacking

Add support to shared display for panel stacking and split screen
application.
The current DRM framework only allows one atomic commit for
each display, this change will create virtual display pipelines
based on the physical display pipeline, and each virtual display
can support independent async atomic commit.
With the change user mode application can setup and update
display on each virtual display and share the same physical port.
No mode switch is allowed on virtual display. When all virtual
displays are powered off, the physical display will also power off.

This change enables resource manager to select the number of
layer mixers to be reserved for a particular usecase. Number of mixers

Once kernel sends splash stop signal to bootloader, it
needs to listen to bootloader's cocurrent flush to
hardware is done, otherwise, one race condition issue

Similar to the atomic helpers, we should enable vblank while we're
waiting for the commit to finish. DPU needs this, MDP5 seems to work
fine without it.

This reverts commit 7f3ef5dedb146e3d5063b6845781ad1bb59b92b5.
It causes new warnings [1] on shutdown when running the Google Kevin or
Scarlet (RK3399) boards under Chrome OS. Presumably our usage of DRM is
different than what Marc and Heiko test.
We're looking at a different approach (e.g., [2]) to replace this, but
IMO the revert should be taken first, as it already propagated to
-stable.

This removes the 'write' and 'force' from get_user_pages() and replaces
them with 'gup_flags' to make the use of FOLL_FORCE explicit in callers
as use of this flag can result in surprising behaviour (and hence bugs)
within the mm subsystem.

This removes the 'write' and 'force' from get_vaddr_frames() and
replaces them with 'gup_flags' to make the use of FOLL_FORCE explicit in
callers as use of this flag can result in surprising behaviour (and
hence bugs) within the mm subsystem.

If the platform has no IO space, ioregs is placed next to the already
allocated regs. In this case, it should not be separately freed.
This prevents a kernel warning from __vunmap "Trying to vfree()
nonexistent vm area" when unloading the driver.

gcc-8 points out a condition that almost certainly doesn't
do what the author had in mind:
drivers/gpu/drm/gma500/mdfld_intel_display.c: In function 'mdfldWaitForPipeEnable':
drivers/gpu/drm/gma500/mdfld_intel_display.c:102:37: error: bitwise comparison always evaluates to false [-Werror=tautological-compare]
This changes it to a simple bit mask operation to check
whether the bit is set.

When splash releases resource, kernel blob property should
be updated at first, and then uevent sending follows.
This sequence can ensure user can always get the correct
information after kernel blob property is updated in
splash handoff thread.

Early domain core driver provides apis to communicate
with LK. Deprecate the use of scratch registers, instead
use the new apis. Early domain core driver now hot adds
the cpu and frees lk text section by taking vote from
all early serivces, So remove hot-adding cpu and freeing
lk text section from display.

After early splash handoff is finished, kernel needs to
update each crtc's and plane's impacted blob property
by splash. This ensures framework can get correct resource
in the second init process.

If vesafb attaches to the AST device, it configures the framebuffer memory
for uncached access by default. When ast.ko later tries to attach itself to
the device, it wants to use write-combining on the framebuffer memory, but
vesefb's existing configuration for uncached access takes precedence. This
results in reduced performance.
Removing the framebuffer's configuration before loding the AST driver fixes
the problem. Other DRM drivers already contain equivalent code.

Sanitize debugfs inputs to only allow access to mdp memory block
specified in dtsi file. This change will allow only one single block
to be read at the time and will avoid accessing memory outside of valid
decode space which can trigger AHB error bus response.

HDR info frames were not disabled after a hotplug and app closure
or in the event of an unexpected termination of the userspace driver.
Fixed the issue by resetting to HDR_DISABLE state in hdmi bridge disable.

Unfortunately drm_dp_get_mst_branch_device which is called from both
drm_dp_mst_handle_down_rep and drm_dp_mst_handle_up_rep seem to rely
on that mgr->mst_primary is not NULL, which seem to be wrong as it can be
cleared with simultaneous mode set, if probing fails or in other case.
mgr->lock mutex doesn't protect against that as it might just get
assigned to NULL right before, not simultaneously.
There are currently bugs 107738, 108616 bugs which crash in
drm_dp_get_mst_branch_device, caused by this issue.

Leaving the DRM driver enabled on reboot or kexec has the annoying
effect of leaving the display generating transactions whilst the
IOMMU has been shut down.
In turn, the IOMMU driver (which shares its interrupt line with
the VOP) starts warning either on shutdown or when entering the
secondary kernel in the kexec case (nothing is expected on that
front).
A cheap way of ensuring that things are nicely shut down is to
register a shutdown callback in the platform driver.

A DMM timeout "timed out waiting for done" has been observed on DRA7
devices. The timeout happens rarely, and only when the system is under
heavy load.
Debugging showed that the timeout can be made to happen much more
frequently by optimizing the DMM driver, so that there's almost no code
between writing the last DMM descriptors to RAM, and writing to DMM
register which starts the DMM transaction.
The current theory is that a wmb() does not properly ensure that the
data written to RAM is observable by all the components in the system.
This DMM timeout has caused interesting (and rare) bugs as the error
handling was not functioning properly (the error handling has been fixed
in previous commits):
* If a DMM timeout happened when a GEM buffer was being pinned for
display on the screen, a timeout error would be shown, but the driver
would continue programming DSS HW with broken buffer, leading to
SYNCLOST floods and possible crashes.
* If a DMM timeout happened when other user (say, video decoder) was
pinning a GEM buffer, a timeout would be shown but if the user
handled the error properly, no other issues followed.
* If a DMM timeout happened when a GEM buffer was being released, the
driver does not even notice the error, leading to crashes or hang
later.
This patch adds wmb() and readl() calls after the last bit is written to
RAM, which should ensure that the execution proceeds only after the data
is actually in RAM, and thus observable by DMM.
The read-back should not be needed. Further study is required to understand
if DMM is somehow special case and read-back is ok, or if DRA7's memory
barriers do not work correctly.
