1. a new state x is alloced in xfrm_state_alloc() and added into the bydst hlist
in __find_acq_core() on the LHS;
2. on the RHS, state_hash_work thread travels the old bydst and tranfers every xfrm_state
(include x) into the new bydst hlist and new byspi hlist;
3. user thread on the LHS gets the lock and adds x into the new byspi hlist again.
So the same xfrm_state (x) is added into the same list_hash
(net->xfrm.state_byspi) 2 times that makes the list_hash become
an inifite loop.
To fix the race, x->id.spi = htonl(spi) in the xfrm_alloc_spi() is moved
to the back of spin_lock_bh, sothat state_hash_work thread no longer add x
which id.spi is zero into the hash_list.

All of these lockup reports have the call chain btrfs_clone_files() ->
btrfs_clone() in common. btrfs_clone_files() calls btrfs_clone() with
both source and destination extents locked and loops over the source
extent to create the clones.
Conditionally reschedule in the btrfs_clone() loop, to give some time back
to other processes.

Commit bd40a175769d ("y2038: itimer: change implementation to timespec64")
replaced the original conversion which handled time clamping correctly with
timespec64_to_ns() which has no overflow protection.
Fix it in timespec64_to_ns() as this is not necessarily limited to the
usage in itimers.

When flags in queue_pages_pte_range don't have MPOL_MF_MOVE or
MPOL_MF_MOVE_ALL bits, code breaks and passing origin pte - 1 to
pte_unmap_unlock seems like not a good idea.
queue_pages_pte_range can run in MPOL_MF_MOVE_ALL mode which doesn't
migrate misplaced pages but returns with EIO when encountering such a
page. Since commit a7f40cfe3b7a ("mm: mempolicy: make mbind() return
-EIO when MPOL_MF_STRICT is specified") and early break on the first pte
in the range results in pte_unmap_unlock on an underflow pte. This can
lead to lockups later on when somebody tries to lock the pte resp.
page_table_lock again..

Commit fc0e38dae645 ("GFS2: Fix glock deallocation race") fixed a
sd_glock_disposal accounting bug by adding a missing atomic_dec
statement, but it failed to wake up sd_glock_wait when that decrement
causes sd_glock_disposal to reach zero. As a consequence,
gfs2_gl_hash_clear can now run into a 10-minute timeout instead of
being woken up. Add the missing wakeup.

The recursion protection of the ring buffer depends on preempt_count() to be
correct. But it is possible that the ring buffer gets called after an
interrupt comes in but before it updates the preempt_count(). This will
trigger a false positive in the recursion code.
Use the same trick from the ftrace function callback recursion code which
uses a "transition" bit that gets set, to allow for a single recursion for
to handle transitions between contexts.

Currently, when a client invokes the service-locator to get
the domain list for a service, a data structure is dynamically
allocated to hold this information, and that is given to the
client for use. However, after the client uses the domain list,
the data structure is not freed, resulting in a memory leak.
Free domain list data structure after client use to fix
memory leak.

Commit ab4dfa20534e ("cfg80211: Allow drivers to advertise supported AKM
suites") introduces the support to advertize supported AKMs to userspace.
This needs an enhancement to advertize the AKM support per interface type,
specifically for the cfg80211-based drivers that implement SME and use
different mechanisms to support the AKM's for each interface type (e.g.,
the support for SAE, OWE AKM's take different paths for such drivers on
STA/AP mode).
This commit aims the same and enhances the earlier mechanism of advertizing
the AKMs per wiphy. Add new nl80211 attributes and data structure to
provide supported AKMs per interface type to userspace.
The AKMs advertized in akm_suites are default capabilities if not
advertized for a specific interface type in iftype_akm_suites.

Don't allow IOCTL_KGSL_MAP_USER_MEM to import user memory that was
already allocated and mapped by KGSL in the first place. Remapping
memory never makes sense and it messes up reference counting in the
pools.

In a condition where there is no room in the drawcontext queue and the
context is invalidated while sleeping in wait_event_interruptible_timeout,
we are now polling for room after wake up. This would lead to infinite
looping.
Hence, do not wait for room in context queue if context is invalidated.

Exception event can be raised by the device when system
suspend is in progress. This will result in unclocked
register access in exception event handler as clocks will
be turned off during suspend. This change makes sure to flush
exception event handler work in suspend before disabling
clocks to avoid unclocked register access issue.

This reverts commit 5f2d68b6b5a439c3223d8fa6ba20736f91fc58d8.
The change drops the non-last fragments whose size is less
than min mtu, this is currently breaking MT call on IWLAN.
It is observed that the SIP_INVITE has fragments of size
less than min mtu, currently reverting the change to allow
MT call to go through.

like 0x81 it goes to ep0_inspect_setup where on the basis of
bRequestType it calls ep0_std_request which calls handle_status.
Since it is an interface request, it will further call
delegate_request which is handles in composite_setup and calls
ep0_queue. However, in the implementation of handle_status we have
an if check for return value of delegate request. If it returns
zero then instead of bailing out from there we break from the switch
and go to the return statement of handle_status, which is ep0_queue.
This results in queuing the same request two times resulting in a
list corruption due to double add.
Fix this by returning from handle_status irrespective of the
return status as in case ep0_queue fails we are suppose to
bail out without doing anything.

VFE hardware is capable of handling 12 bit
plain16 raw image format. As this support
is not there in software, failure is returned

If kernel image extends across alignment boundary, existing
code increases the KASLR offset by size of kernel image. The
offset is masked after resizing. There are cases, where after
masking, we may still have kernel image extending across
boundary. This eventually results in only 2MB block getting
mapped while creating the page tables. This results in data aborts
while accessing unmapped regions during second relocation (with
kaslr offset) in __primary_switch. To fix this problem, round up the
kernel image size, by swapper block size, before adding it for
correction.
For example consider below case, where kernel image still crosses
1GB alignment boundary, after masking the offset, which is fixed
by rounding up kernel image size.

A regression of the FTQ noise has been reported by Ying Huang,
on the following hardware:
8 threads Intel(R) Core(TM)i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz with 8G memory
... which was caused by this commit:
commit 4e5160766fcc ("sched/fair: Propagate asynchrous detach")
The only part of the patch that can increase the noise is the update
of blocked load of group entity in update_blocked_averages().
We can optimize this call and skip the update of group entity if its load
and utilization are already null and there is no pending propagation of load
in the task group.
This optimization partly restores the noise score. A more agressive
optimization has been tried but has shown worse score.

This is caused by the fact that lspci issues a read() on /dev/mem at the
offset where it expects to find the SMBIOS structure array. However, this
region is classified as EFI_RUNTIME_SERVICE_DATA (as per the UEFI spec),
and so it is omitted from the linear mapping.
So let's restrict /dev/mem read/write access to those areas that are
covered by the linear region.

in-order") passed the locally declared and undefined cmd
to binder_stat_br() which results in a bogus cmd field in a trace

enter_lazy_tlb is called when a kernel thread rides on the back of
another mm, due to a context switch or an explicit call to unuse_mm
where a call to switch_mm is elided.
In these cases, it's important to keep the saved ttbr value up to date
with the active mm, otherwise we can end up with a stale value which
points to a potentially freed page table.
This patch implements enter_lazy_tlb for arm64, so that the saved ttbr0
is kept up-to-date with the active mm for kernel threads.

KVM only supports PMD hugepages at stage 2 but doesn't actually check
that the provided hugepage memory pagesize is PMD_SIZE before populating
stage 2 entries.
In cases where the backing hugepage size is smaller than PMD_SIZE (such
as when using contiguous hugepages), KVM can end up creating stage 2
mappings that extend beyond the supplied memory.
Fix this by checking for the pagesize of userspace vma before creating
PMD hugepage at stage 2.

Commit df04abfd181a ("fs/proc/kcore.c: Add bounce buffer for ktext
data") added a bounce buffer to avoid hardened usercopy checks. Copying
to the bounce buffer was implemented with a simple memcpy() assuming
that it is always valid to read from kernel memory iff the
kern_addr_valid() check passed.
A simple, but pointless, test case like "dd if=/proc/kcore of=/dev/null"
now can easily crash the kernel, since the former execption handling on
invalid kernel addresses now doesn't work anymore.
Also adding a kern_addr_valid() implementation wouldn't help here. Most
architectures simply return 1 here, while a couple implemented a page
table walk to figure out if something is mapped at the address in
question.
With DEBUG_PAGEALLOC active mappings are established and removed all the
time, so that relying on the result of kern_addr_valid() before
executing the memcpy() also doesn't work.
Therefore simply use probe_kernel_read() to copy to the bounce buffer.
This also allows to simplify read_kcore().
At least on s390 this fixes the observed crashes and doesn't introduce
warnings that were removed with df04abfd181a ("fs/proc/kcore.c: Add
bounce buffer for ktext data"), even though the generic
probe_kernel_read() implementation uses uaccess functions.
While looking into this I'm also wondering if kern_addr_valid() could be
completely removed...(?)

tracing
do_task_stat() calls get_wchan(), which further does unwind_frame().
unwind_frame() restores frame->pc to original value in case function
graph tracer has modified a return address (LR) in a stack frame to hook
a function return. However, if function graph tracer has hit a filtered
function, then we can't unwind it as ftrace_push_return_trace() has
biased the index(frame->graph) with a 'huge negative'
offset(-FTRACE_NOTRACE_DEPTH).
Moreover, arm64 stack walker defines index(frame->graph) as unsigned
int, which can not compare a -ve number.
Similar problem we can have with calling of walk_stackframe() from
save_stack_trace_tsk() or dump_backtrace().
This patch fixes unwind_frame() to test the index for -ve value and
restore index accordingly before we can restore frame->pc.

We inspect __kpti_forced early on as part of the cpufeature enable
callback which remaps the swapper page table using non-global entries.
Ensure that __kpti_forced has been updated to reflect the kpti=
command-line option before we start using it.

kaslr_early_init() is called with the kernel mapped at its
link time offset, and if it returns with a non-zero offset,
the kernel is unmapped and remapped again at the randomized
offset.
During its execution, kaslr_early_init() also randomizes the
base of the module region and of the linear mapping of DRAM,
and sets two variables accordingly. However, since these
variables are assigned with the caches on, they may get lost
during the cache maintenance that occurs when unmapping and
remapping the kernel, so ensure that these values are cleaned
to the PoC.

kaslr is off
Commit 1598ecda7b23 ("arm64: kaslr: ensure randomized quantities are
clean to the PoC") added cache maintenance to ensure that global
variables set by the kaslr init routine are not wiped clean due to
cache invalidation occurring during the second round of page table
creation.
However, if kaslr_early_init() exits early with no randomization
being applied (either due to the lack of a seed, or because the user
has disabled kaslr explicitly), no cache maintenance is performed,
leading to the same issue we attempted to fix earlier, as far as the
module_alloc_base variable is concerned.
Note that module_alloc_base cannot be initialized statically, because
that would cause it to be subject to a R_AARCH64_RELATIVE relocation,
causing it to be overwritten by the second round of KASLR relocation
processing.

The arm64 ptdump code can race with concurrent modification of the
kernel page tables. At the time this was added, this was sound as:
* Modifications to leaf entries could result in stale information being
logged, but would not result in a functional problem.
* Boot time modifications to non-leaf entries (e.g. freeing of initmem)
were performed when the ptdump code cannot be invoked.
* At runtime, modifications to non-leaf entries only occurred in the
vmalloc region, and these were strictly additive, as intermediate
entries were never freed.
However, since commit:
commit 324420bf91f6 ("arm64: add support for ioremap() block mappings")
... it has been possible to create huge mappings in the vmalloc area at
runtime, and as part of this existing intermediate levels of table my be
removed and freed.
It's possible for the ptdump code to race with this, and continue to
walk tables which have been freed (and potentially poisoned or
reallocated). As a result of this, the ptdump code may dereference bogus
addresses, which could be fatal.
Since huge-vmap is a TLB and memory optimization, we can disable it when
the runtime ptdump code is in use to avoid this problem.

Handling of the CPU_PM_ENTER_FAILED transition in the Arm PMU PM

Fix a debug-only build error in ext2/xattr.c:
When building without extra debugging, (and with another patch that uses
no_printk() instead of <empty> for the ext2-xattr debug-print macros,
this build error happens:

Fix the problem by removing cached entry count from the debug message
since otherwise we'd have to export the mbcache structure just for that.

Building an arm64 defconfig with clang's integrated assembler, this error

While GNU as seems fine with case-sensitive macro instantiations, clang
doesn't, so use the actual macro name (_asm_extable) as in the rest of
the file.
Also checked that the generated assembly matches the GCC output.

The error correction data is computed as if data and hash blocks
were concatenated. But hash block number starts from v->hash_start.
So, we have to calculate hash block number based on that.
